A few of our customers have reached out to find out if we're still open and the answer is yes! We're a small and versatile team, we've made changes to protect our staff internally and ensure we can continue to service our online orders. There are currently no delays to the processing of orders from our warehouse. We're locked, loaded and ready to go. 



Australia Post is still fully operational. They are experiencing delays due to social distancing, reduced domestic and international flights and an unexpected and unprecedented demand for online shopping. They are currently managing a backlog in their fulfilment centres and are doing their best to work through their logistical challenges. As a result, some services are delayed. 


Express Post

As of the 30th April, the Australia Post Express Network has suspended their guaranteed next day delivery service. Express Parcels are still prioritised over standard deliveries, just not a guarantee or the next day. More info is available here.


Signature on delivery

The main change to their service however is that signature on delivery is no longer required for delivery or collection. Someone must however be present with the Australia Post deliveryman for this to occur otherwise standard delivery procedures apply.  Instead, the Australia Post staff member will ask and record the customers name and acknowledge delivery in the system. From what we understand the demand for online purchases and therefore Australia Post has skyrocketed, so they may be experiencing some delays to their service, which is to be expected. Australia Post has had to adapt operations across metropolitian Melbourne to meet Victorian Government restrictions. Australia Post is required to reduce the number of people in metro Melbourne distribution facilities, which is being met be split shifts to allow for cleaning and to adhere to the COVID-10 safe plan. This may affect delivery times to metro Melbourne areas.


Since the end of March, Australia Post has been experiencing significant international delivery delays to all destinations due to limited flights and government restrictions as well as increased parcel volumes that exceed even their busiest period at Christmas. As a result, they have introduced a number of service suspensions where they are unable to move parcels due to airport closures, no available airline capacity and known major delivery issues with international destinations. All updates regarding this are provided directly and regularly on the Australia Post website. 

Most impacted of these countries is the United States of America, and Australia Post is working through the items on hand to ensure the parcels are delivered as quickly as possible. Currently, Express International parcels are being prioritised. 

To help improve communication, Australia Post have enhanced their tracking information. Previously, tracking featured a notification informing customers that their parcel had been scanned at the gateway and was ready for international dispatch. Due to limited flight capacity, parcels were not always loaded onto an aircraft soon after this scan. To provide better information we've introduced a new notification, which reads: "Cleared and awaiting international departure, Melbourne VIC."
Over the coming weeks, Australia Post will be introducing three new scanning events to their tracking system which will provide even further clarity around the current status of the item in transit, as well as assurance that the parcel has reached it's intended destination. The new notifications include:
- Received by air carrier for international departure
- Delayed - transferring to sea carrier for international departure
- Arrived at destination country.
As of the 14th August, there have been some improvement indelivery speeds to destinations including USA, Canada and South-East Asia.
